FAQ

Who is Cutroom for?

Clipping agencies and freelance clippers who run several clients at once. Each client gets a workspace with their own brand kit, clipping strategy and review link.

What does it cost to run?

The running cost is the language model that picks the clips, billed to your own key. One 51-minute podcast on Claude Sonnet took 13 model calls and cost $0.21. Claude Haiku, the default, costs less.

Which AI picks the clips?

Your choice: Claude (Opus, Sonnet or Haiku), Gemini, or a local model through Ollama. Switch at any time in Settings.

How long does one episode take?

In one measured run, a 51-minute podcast went from pasted link to three finished clips in under six minutes. Everything runs in the background while you work.

How does client sign-off work?

Approve the clips you like, then send a review link. It opens in any browser with no account, and the client approves each clip or asks for a change. Answers show up on the clip in Cutroom.

Can I change a clip before it goes out?

Yes. Edit any title or description, or describe the change, such as “punchier headline, end three seconds earlier”. Nothing is published until you say so.

How does billing work?

Cutroom totals each client’s approved work for the month, and you send the retainer invoice through your own Stripe account.

What do I need to run it?

macOS 26 or later; Apple silicon is recommended. Transcription and rendering run locally, so there is no server to host and no GPU to rent.
